The Ondo State Deputy governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi have been impeached by members of the State House of Assembly this morning April 27th. It was a situation where 22 out of 26 lawmakers supported the motion of him to be impeached. The motion was moved by the majority leader in person of Ifedayo Akinsoyinu from Ondo West 11 and it was seconded by Olatunji Dauro from Owo 11. The deputy governor have been instructed to leave the government house and also to hand over all the government properties in his possession to the permanent secretary in his office. Reasons for his impeachment have not yet been revealed. We do not know the reason behind his impeachment yet. Over the coming days, we would know more as the drama unfolds. However, there have been media speculations of a 'wave of impeachment' sweeping across some states. I guess Ondo is the first of these states to witness the wave.
