The fast rising Nollywood actor who is known for his
storming movies such as figurine, phoneswap and the great October First,
now showing on cinemas all over the world took to Instagram to point
fingers at Igbos as Nigeria's number one pirates.
Uche Jumbo, an actress in the industry also reacted to Kunle Afolayan's tweets regarding the Igbo. Whether she reacted based on the truth in her own opinion or because she is Igbo, I am not certain. However, below were the tweets she made.
I guess kunle Afolayan realized his mistakes and decided to tender apologizes for his tweets. Below were his tweets.
And after his apologies, some people were still not done with him. Really stepped on peoples toes and one of them was the movie director, Mr Ifeanyi Ikpoenyi. He said and I quote, "I almost ignored Kunle Afolayan's useless tweets
about Igbos being the only Pirates in Nigeria because to me, Kunle is
just an over rated Nollywood film maker. He's not better than Izu
Ojukwu, Teco Benson, Obi Emelonye, Chineze Anyaene to mention but a few.
The secret of Kunle is his DOP, Yinka Davies who does everything for him
and at the end of the day Kunle will just come and announce 'action'. Give him another local DOP and see if Kunle is worth all the praises his
kinsmen showers on him. Kunle should thank Peace Anyiam Osigwe for
giving him the platform of AMAA as a pedestal to limelight. Trust me, if
Kunle walks the street of Onitsha, Aba, Enugu or any where outside
yoruba land, not even one person will recognize him as a celebrity. I
will rather worry myself with the Oba's threat to Ndi igbo than spend
one second of my time thinking about Kunle's senseless tweets about the
Igbos"
I think when an apology is tendered, nothing should come afterwards anymore. Since he has realized his mistakes, we should just let the whole thing go rather than capitalize on that to create unnecessary feud. Once a celebrity is a celebrity. Whether you are in Yoruba land, Enugu, Aba or Onitsha, you are already a celebrity.
Kunle need not to even apologize self bcos he his actually saying the truth and y is this director ifeanyi ikpoenyi beefing kunle afolayan glory, kunle pple dnt like the way u r succeding oooo, pls continue to pray.

ReplyDeleteWell Kunle as a public figure neva needed such utterances and his appologies werent from his inner mind as supposed. Better he comes up with something better. Nobody knows tomorrow.....
I am in total support @http://www.blogger.com/profile/06715769418953095205. As a public figure or a celebrity, you need to watch how you comment on issues that are fragile. Just take a look at don jazzy. Did he not see the comments made by the Oba, but it took the constant pressure of a fan to make him utter a word and in which he made a sensible one. So I believe celebs shouldn't just talk anyhow.
