I must decamp to APC

I guess many would be surprised at my title 'I must decamp to APC'. You need not to be surprised because that is what is going through the minds of other party members most especially the PDP party and we have just experienced a massive decamping in Benue state. Over 3,000 PDP members have just made a switch to APC in Benue state. It is like people are beginning to join or thinking of joining the wining party after Gen. Buhari was declared the President-elect of the Republic of Nigeria. I wonder why this massive switch is being done by the PDP members because while the PDP ruled for 16 years, there were not much decamping done by other parties into the PDP. In fact, there were formation of new parties and the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party never threatened the existence of these other parties.

In my own opinion,I think there should be a law regulating the movements of party members from one party to another. Some analysts have it that when someone who has failed within a party that was dominant for a long while, decided to migrate to another party that is recently thriving, he is only trying to satisfy his own selfish interest and not the interest of the masses. A downfall of the thriving party would then lead once again to another mass movement into another party. At the end of the day the bad eggs constituting one party would have only succeeded in moving to another party to still constitute themselves as bad eggs. I wonder why we don't hear in the news that 5,000 Democrats have decamped to the Republican party or vice-versa. This ideology of decamping for me should be regulated.
