Died during a match
The Belgian footballer, Gregory Mertens died after collapsing during a match. The Belgian died at age 24, 3 days after he slumped during an ongoing match. Gregory who used to play for Belgium Under-21 international fell during the first half of the match on Monday April 27th.

He was first administered first aid treatment on the football pitch but when it was realized it was a very serious case, he was immediately taken to the hospital where he was placed on life support. However his condition was not improving and today his family members decided his life support should be terminated . He however gave up the ghost by 4 pm today. May eternal rest be granted unto him and let perpetual light shine up on him.. Amen

See letter Andrew Chan wrote to children around the world

Andrew Chan is one of the 8 people executed in Indonesia two days ago. He wrote this letter warning children the effect of drugs. See the letter below.

'Now the reason why I'm writing you this letter is to address you guys about the dangers of drugs and the effects it can have on you and also others. To tell you a little bit about my life story, I was once 15, 16 and it wasn't too long ago I was sitting in a class just like you guys. I was an average kid and let me tell you that my teachers didn't like me one bit and I was no teacher's pet. But to cut a long story short, I got mixed up with drugs at a pretty young age and by the time I was 15, I was merged into the scene.'

'I've done things which I am not proud of in my life and I've made some pretty stupid decisions. My life is a perfect example of an absolute waste. Now to elaborate the effects of where I am, I've missed weddings, I've missed funerals and the simple presence of my own family. The hurt and pain - I don't just put it onto myself, but the pain I put on my family is agonizing. A simple touch such as a hug is not possible for a condemned man like me. I have nothing but an iron bar to hug rather than to be embraced by those I love and who I miss.'

'What you choose today will make what you become tomorrow. If you want to be a thug and a big bad wolf, I'll see you soon inside. But for those that want to do something in life I'd like you guys to see how important it is to put your head down and study hard. I hope these words will penetrate in your minds and in your hearts and I hope that most of you, if not all of you, will achieve more than I ever did.'

Recently, four Nigerians were executed in the same country too.

Ondo State Deputy Governor Impeached

The Ondo State Deputy governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi have been impeached by members of the State House of Assembly this morning April 27th. It was a situation where 22 out of 26 lawmakers supported the motion of him to be impeached. The motion was moved by the majority leader in person of Ifedayo Akinsoyinu from Ondo West 11 and it was seconded by Olatunji Dauro from Owo 11‎. The deputy governor have been instructed to leave the government house and also to hand over all the government properties in his possession to the permanent secretary in his office. Reasons for his impeachment have not yet been revealed. We do not know the reason behind his impeachment yet. Over the coming days, we would know more as the drama unfolds. However, there have been media speculations of a 'wave of impeachment' sweeping across some states. I guess Ondo is the first of these states to witness the wave.

Meet Adaramola Samuel: First medical practitioner of Isare Opin community in Kwara State

JOB face of the week is a weekly interview conducted between Justina Oladele Blog (JOB) and a talented Nigerian. The aim is to showcase individuals with potentials, people with exceptional skills in various works of life and most importantly, individuals aspiring to be great or accomplish great things in life could learn from them. This week I would be presenting to you guys the first medical practitioner in Isare Opin community of Ekiti local government in Kwara State.

Below is the interview between JOB and Adaramola Samuel.

The first medical practitioner of Isare Opin community in Kwara State

The first medical practitioner of Isare Opin community in Kwara State
Adaramola Samuel
JOB: What is your name?
Adaramola: I am Adaramola Samuel Oluwasola

JOB: Tell us a little about you. Your educational background, where you hail from, your hobbies/sports, likes and dislikes and your philosophy about life?
Adaramola: I hail from Isare Opin in Ekiti local government area of Kwara state. I’m the fourth and last child of my parents with three lovely sisters. I attended Our Lady’s N/P school for my primary education, Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. Model College for my secondary education and University of Ilorin for my tertiary education. I love acting (I do act as often as I can), drawing and making new friends. I dislike dishonesty and pride. My philosophy about life is that it is never over until it is over, the struggle always continues.

JOB: What are your past accomplishments and scholarship gotten (if any)?
Adaramola: My past accomplishments (if any) are normal things that anybody could have achieved if given the same opportunities I had and I feel reveling in my past will only prevent further achievements. As for my scholarships, I had from Chevron, Mobil and MTN.

JOB: How do you feel being the first medical practitioner in your village?
Adaramola: I feel happy and I also see it as a challenge to achieve greater things.

JOB: Can you tell us what roles you intend to play to better the lives of the people in your community being the first medical practitioner?
Adaramola: I hope to serve as a good ambassador of my village wherever I find myself and place my village on the world map. At the right time, I hope to give back to my community in whatever way I can and also mentor my kinsmen.

JOB: What is your future ambitions and inspirations that can impart younger ones?
Adaramola: I want to touch many lives in positive ways in my medical practice and I want my life to serve as an aspiration to others behind me.

JOB: What advice do you have for younger generations probably will be the first medical practitioner in their village too, you know it is a big responsibility that so many of them wouldn't want to bear?
Adaramola: According to Benjamin Franklin, it is hard for an empty bag to stand upright. Education is vital and we must keep learning each day till we die in order to be outstanding in our various fields. Finally they must commit all their plans unto God’s hand, Psalm 127:1 says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain”.

I would like to appreciate Adaramola Samuel for the opportunity given to me to conduct and make the interview available for people to benefit from. I am sure many would be inspired. Thanks

Being married does not stop me from kissing other women- Peter Okoye

Being married does not stop me from kissing other women
Peter and Son
In one of the interview with Vanguard Allure Magazine, Peter Okoye mentioned few things that have changed and those that have not changed about him. The artist who is married to Lola with two kids said, being married does not stop him from kissing other women outside. See the statement in his own words below.

“It feels great. I won’t say I’m more responsible now because I have been responsible long before getting married. I have two kids. One way marriage has changed me is, I now know what our parents went through in raising us. For me, I’m now more composed. I try not to worry too much. I’m more focused because I need to work hard to look after my family…it hasn't affected my life. I still show my six packs. I still kiss people in the crowd. I still take my semi-nude pictures, travel etc. I’m still me and it’s all still”.

Well, with many fans hanging around for kisses and autographs, the temptation could be overwhelming. However, I would suggest you take it cool with kissing every women in the crowd o..lol. Just my opinion though because marriage is marriage and the rules are got to be followed regardless of whether you are a celeb or not. Please share your thoughts below. Many may be against me by now..lol.

8 reasons why Nigerian churches are going to lead christians to hell- Etcetera

8 reasons why Nigerian churches are going to lead christians to hell
Etcetera
The singer, now turned writer have this to say on how Nigerian churches are going to lead Christians to hell fire. See below.

1. There is almost no evidence whatsoever that the early church had their “services” on a Sunday. They gathered together ‘from house to house’ virtually every day! People did not dress up and “go to church.” There were no denominations or separate groups with different ‘labels.’ They lived their lives together – And the apostles in Jerusalem preached everyday at a huge open-air gathering, not “hidden away” inside four walls. Church buildings do not exist in the Bible. They were invented around 200-300 AD, when the church was in serious decline. Church buildings are anti-New Testament, and they bring with them a host of problems and traditions. It was when the church fell into the hands of Rome that this concept of the “cathedral” took over. And today, we are still spending millions building these beautiful monuments while the worshipers are starving.

2. The words “prosper” or ‘prosperity’ were NEVER used by Jesus at all – and only mentioned a few times in the entire New Testament. Yet our greedy pastors have built kingdoms upon them. The words – “sell what you have and give to the poor” and “deceitfulness of riches” and “you cannot serve God and mammon” and “woe to you that are rich” were DEFINITELY used by Jesus and the apostles, but you don’t hear them preached by your pastors, do you?

3. Tithing is not a New Testament practice at all. And it is being shamefully abused by today’s preachers. In the Old Testament, tithing was only applicable to Jews and to the land of Israel and that was at a time when a great number of them lived in Babylon, Ammon, Moab, Egypt and Syria. As a result of that, the land they occupied became tithe-able lands. Tithes were not acceptable from Gentiles’ lands. So my brothers and sisters, you need to ask your pastor why he is collecting tithes here in Nigeria. Also, the only people authorized to receive tithes were the Levites – (Hebrews 7:5). If your pastor is collecting tithe from you, ask him if he’s from the tribe of Levi. Even Jesus who was a Jew couldn't collect tithes because he wasn't from the tribe of Levi but from that of Judah. And if your pastor insists that being a worker in the lord’s vineyard qualifies him as a Levite, please remind him that Levites had no land and did not own properties.

4. The Jesus of today’s church is a “Father Christmas,” a Jesus who exists mainly for our own “happiness;” a Father Christmas who wants to rain down continual blessings upon us; a Jesus of grace and mercy without judgement, righteousness or truth. Our gross misrepresentation of who Jesus really is, is one of the most serious offences of today’s church. We worship a “plastic” Jesus – one that we have painted in our own image. What an offence to God.

5. What we have today are churches that are so loose that they excuse any sin or misconduct, including homosexuality and adultery. Aren't we supposed to accept only the truth of God’s word? But instead, we have opted for a modern church that is socially based, smooth and sophisticated, and presented like a Nollywood movie with men and women of Ogboni fraternity dressed in their occultic regalia occupying special seats during services. Something is wrong!

6. What happened to the strong calls for repentance that brought thousands down to the altar to repent and ask Jesus Christ to save their souls? This is the litmus test for Christianity; it is the essence of the Cross; it is the great commission that Jesus commanded us with. If your church is not winning souls, then it is like a barren woman, and it is a shame. Something is wrong!

7. What happened to the outpouring of the Holy Ghost? Do we even know what it means anymore to feel the presence of the Spirit of God descend on a service and fill up the room with holiness? Or we just love that party atmosphere and excitement when the choir plays a boogie-down song? Or we love to scream “ride on pastor” in the excitement we get when some charismatic preacher works the crowd? It’s been so long we've felt the presence of the Holy Spirit that we don’t know what it is anymore. Something is definitely wrong!

8. Lots of pastors are aware that there is something very wrong with the church today. They know there is little ‘fear of the Lord.’ They know there is no deep repentance or deep moving of the Holy Spirit. They know that it is just the same old “game” being played every week. A lot of them are very aware of this, but they will not do anything about it. They will not rock the boat. And they will destroy anyone who comes along trying to do something. They do not want any reforms. There is too much to lose. They have their careers and their “kingdoms” at stake. This is the truth of the matter. Most of you are worshipers of your pastors and not God. Many of you are hell bound. So pray my brothers and sisters. Pray for your souls. Let me stop here and leave room for you to call me names. But do remember that the church is leading you to hell – not me!

What do you guys think? Do you think Etcetera is right?

Tonto Dikeh fans coming after her once again

Tonto Dikeh fans are always on her case, every time she post anything on her Instagram page, whether 'Good morning' or Good night ' or even wishing them good. Some of her fans will always reply her with foul languages such as' Bitch', 'slot' among others. You all should not forget that this attitude of Tonto Dikeh's fans contributed to her wanting to commit suicide sometimes last year. Recently you all heard about the saga about her buying some items such as a designer hand bag and a travelling box, which was said that she refused to pay for, and it went viral online, after which she went ahead to burn the items.

I just think her fans should go slow on her, nobody is above mistakes, so just this morning she said ' good morning baes pray with me, hot or cold, it's a new day, rock it, outrun it and then a lot of reactions had followed. See reactions below.

Xenophobia: What actress Rukky Sanda have to say

Xenophobia: What actress Rukky Sanda have to say
Rukky Sanda
The Nollywood actress, Rukky Saanda took to her Instagram page calling out on Nigerian senator who said Nigerians should attack South African businesses in Nigeria. See the message below.

"Where do I begin? When I was going to post about this about 4 days ago, if I did I'm sure I would have written a whole paragraph as I had too many words running through my head from watching videos of attacks on innocent victims to arrogant silly South African man saying to the camera that Nigerians have to go because they take their women and their jobs... #smh looking into his lazy eyes as he spoke was single handedly the most stupid thing I'd ever heard a full grown man say, but that aside I guess this images speak for themselves... I'd say this much though as regards what I read and images being circulated on social media and few acts already being engaged by Nigerians on South African countries in Nigeria, and worst of all watching a Nigerian Senator on NTA last Night encouraging Nigerians to attack companies like MTN and MultiChoice among others is totally despicable.

Firstly 98% of people working in these companies are Nigerians so how exactly will causing harm to our very own people or building the idea help end #xenophobia? Destroying properties of our very own with the hope that Companies will bare the loss? Cos I'm quite confused. It is a critical time, we are hurt, we are furious we want them to pay but Violence is not the Solution to Violence, cos as far as I'm concerned to "Be Little", is to "Be Little" and we will never be any better than the people committing this totally sinful and shameful act if we bring ourselves to lay In the mud with them. We have to be united to fight, we have to maintain positivity, we have to stay strong and most of all be united as #ONE... Let ur Voice be heard, Africa Is One, Put An End to XENOPHOBIC acts #stand4peace&unity #violenceIsNotTheAnswer2violence".

I also disagree with the opinion that Nigerians should go ahead to attack South African companies doing business in Nigeria. Nigerians are peace-loving people. Moreover, doing that as a retaliatory measure doesn't do much to stop the crisis in South Africa. In fact, we would have only constituted nuisance within the country. I think such utterances should be discouraged and focus on contributing our quota to help South Africa stop the attacks.

Boko Haram are now using bows and arrows, runs out of arms and ammunition

"The Boko Haram terrorists have run out of arms and ammunition because the usual supplies they get are not forthcoming. They now have only bow and arrows, machetes, daggers and other local weapons. You can find more than 500 of them with only few having rifles and even when one or two of them have rifles, they have no ammunition. I am optimistic that the military will succeed in killing many of these insurgents who have been terrorizing residents for the past three years.”he said
General Chris Olukolade
According to a report released by the Director of Defence Information, General Chris Olukolade, he said Boko Haram have run out of arms and ammunition and are now using bow and arrows. See his statement below.

It is a good thing that the military and the neighbouring coalition forces are finally getting hold of this menace that has almost destroyed the peace and stability we long enjoyed in this country.

Remove my election posters says president Jonathan

Remove my election posters
President Goodluck Jonathan
President Jonathan has ordered the removal of his campaign posters and that of Sambo his vice he said that in a press statement released today. The statement was made known through the Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), Reuben Abati. See the statement below.

"With the 2015 presidential elections now concluded and the country preparing for the inauguration of a new administration on May 29, President Goodluck Jonathan believes that it is appropriate that steps be taken to restore the environment in Nigerian cities, towns and villages to their pre-elections campaign state.

Accordingly, President Jonathan directs that the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation and the various associations that coalesced into the Jonathan/Sambo Support Group immediately begin the process of removing the posters, billboards, banners, signs and other campaign materials in support of his re-election bid which still adorn the landscape in major cities across the country.

The President thanks all individuals and organisations who made sincere contributions and worked with immense dedication for the Jonathan/ Sambo Campaign. He applauds his supporters and other Nigerians for the disciplined, patriotic and democratic manner in which they comported themselves before, during and after the elections.

Now that the elections are over except for re-runs in a few states, President Jonathan urges Nigerians to put the recent political campaigns behind them and join hands with the incoming administration in working for a more united, peaceful, stable and progressive nation".

With the recent election in my country and a new government coming on board from May 29, 2015, it has become necessary to convene an emergency summit of the AFLPM to facilitate a smooth and formal hand over to the new Executive Committee that will pilot the affairs of the Peace Mission for the next two years. The Emergency Summit is proposed for Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Interim Secretariat of the African First Ladies Peace Mission, Abuja by 2 pm. I do not regret supporting Jonathan says Fayose

I do not regret supporting Jonathan says Fayose
These was a press statement released by the Ekiti state governor, governor Fayose regarding his support for President Jonathan during the 2015 general elections. See below.

"It has become imperative once again to address the media on the constitutional and political crises being foisted on our dear State, Ekiti by irritants of unbridled ambitions, who are not only devoid of spirit of sportsmanship but implacable even when all odds are against them and roundly rejected by the good people of the state.

It is no longer news that I defeated an incumbent governor in all the 16 Local Government Areas in the State and that for the first time in the history of Nigeria, attempts were made to use the courts to prevent someone who clearly won a governorship election from assuming office. Since June 21, 2014 that the All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered that humiliating defeat, the party has suffered defeats in the entire local government areas in Ekiti State in four other elections, the latest being the House of Assembly election in which APC won no single seat out of the 26 seats.

Ekiti people have been persistent in their preference for me and my party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to correct the ills of the last four years and set the State on the path of greatness. Despite that Ekiti people have consistently spoken with their votes against the APC, Nigerians are witnesses to the litany of illegalities being woven by both the national leadership of the party and its Ekiti State chapter, all in an attempt to rob Ekiti people of the mandate freely given to me.

Despite receiving bloodied nose in both the political and judicial arena in the hands of the Ekiti masses as represented by me, these desperate politicians are unrelenting in their shenanigans, the latest being the information at my disposal that even after May 29, the state would not know peace. I however trust Ekiti people to do what is right in securing peace in their land. I have been severally informed that I became the prime demolition target of the APC national leadership because of my overt and unalloyed support for President Goodluck Jonathan during the campaigns.

Insiders in their party also told me that APC leaders were also yet to get over the fact that in the entire South-West, Ekiti was the only state they could not "rob" for General Mohammed Buhari (rtd). The eagle-eyed surveillance of Ekiti people ensured that. I wish to declare unequivocally that I remain loyal to President Jonathan even after May 29 as my support for his re-election and administration was not about bread-and-butter. I was convinced he was moving Nigeria in the right direction, despite all the noise. I have no regrets supporting him. If same situation presents itself again, I would do it all over.

Let me state it clearly that if President Jonathan is deserted by all Nigerians today, I, Ayodele Fayose, would remain with him. I have chosen to be his last-man standing. If for this show of loyalty to Mr President and my party, APC and its leaders believe that the best way to pay me back is to make Ekiti ungovernable, the decision on appropriate reaction belongs to the people, whose mandate I keep in trust.

It is ironic that those who said worse things about the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) when they were in opposing parties, are the ones milling around him today, using him as an electoral talisman and demonizing us for saying things of lesser magnitude during a campaign that was mainly characterized by hate-messages from both divides. I also want to put on record that if all PDP members decamp to APC today, I will remain the last-man standing for the party, even as I have no cause to denigrate the office of the president.

I also promise APC a robust and engaging opposition both in the South-West, and nationally, with me playing a prominent role. Let me again state that I will continue to seek peace with my traducers and troublers of Ekiti. Since the Supreme Court judgement which held my 2006 impeachment as illegal, unconstitutional, null and void and of no effect, my preachings have been peace. This is to see if a hand of fellowship as urged by elders in the state and the nation at large would bring sanity to the opposition camp. It definitely has nothing to do with cowardice; as Ekiti is a land of the brave.

In alerting the international community on what to expect from May 29 as regards the threat by the APC to make Ekiti ungovernable, I have decided to put on notice the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) on the imminent reign of impunity by APC as from May 29. Since Ekiti people are certain to resist the planned plundering of their land, Nigerians and the world at large should know who to hold responsible in the event of anarchy in Ekiti State in particular and the entire Yorubaland. God bless our land.
