Woman Sets Husband on Fire

Report has it that the Ekiti state police command has arrested a woman by the name Bukola Olusegun, who allegedly set her husband, Abimbola Olusegun on fire. The incident was reported to have occurred over a disagreement on valentine day. A day meant to be a day of celebration of love was however cut short for the victim. Abimbola was said to have left home to have fun without his wife and on returning at around 6PM in the evening, trouble erupted as his wife accused him of infidelity.

A neighbour who told PUNCH newspaper said that the husband suddenly ran out of his apartment in the mid-night, raising alarm that his wife had set him ablaze. Quick intervention from the neighbours helped prevented the man from being burnt to ashes. He was then rushed to Ekiti state university teaching hospital, where is currently receiving treatment.

The Ekiti State Police command are presently on top of the situation. According to the Divisional Crime Officer, Ado Central Divisional Police station, the reason behind her setting her husband ablaze was because he did not celebrate the Valentine with her nor took her out for fun on this day of love.

I think there should be public enlightenment on sanity or certain acts that are abominable in the society and anyone found wanting would be lawfully dealt with. I mean, where in a civilized world do you set your breadwinner, the father of your children, the pillar of the home ablaze? Just because of valentine. Too bad!
