Father and Son wanted by EFCC

The former governor of Adamawa state, Murtala Nyako, son and a retired Naval officer, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for crimes bothering on criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering. It could be recalled that the former governor was impeached last year by the state House of Assembly following allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office.

However, reacting to the report, the former governor said, "I am not aware of being declared wanted. But that is good. If you are wanted by a rough system, it means you are a good person. Has this government gone after anybody that is bad? They only run after the good people and allow the bad people to roam around them, live happily and enjoy whatever bad things they are doing. I am not surprised that I was declared wanted by the EFCC, as many more Nigerians will be declared wanted by the government because they are intimidated by the large crowd that turned out for the APC, rally in Yola, Adamawa.

The former governor further said that the Jonathan government is afraid that even when he was no longer in office, the people of Adamawa State still love and support him. He finally said that when the time comes for the government to be declared wanted, nobody will sympathize with them. However, the  ex-governor and his son still remains innocent until proven guilty. We can only hope that the justice system of our great country continues to uphold the values it believes in.
